Overview
Wiper allows you to quickly and efficiently destroy data on disks. 1 or 100 drives, if Windows can see the drive, Wiper can destroy its data.
Wiper needs the .NET Framework v2.0 or later to run, but the disks you're wiping do not need to contain valid Windows partitions (or valid partitions at all for that matter) as it's agnostic to the data on the disk and can operate at the logical and physical levels on a disk, giving greater flexibility in user options.
NOTE:
You must be an administrator of the machine in order to use Wiper. If not, you may not be able to securely
wipe all of your data!Current features include the following:
- Low level disk access (sector 0-end of drive)
- Wipe multiple disks at the same time
- Multiple data destruction methods to include:
- NCSC-TG-025 Data Sanitization Method
- Navso P-5329-26
- DoD 5220.22-M
- And more...
Wiper can even be set to access separate partitions (Windows partitions only) versus the entire drive (Logical Drive vs. Physical Drive).
A word of caution
to those who wish to use Wiper on solid state media (thumb drives, SD cards, solid state
disk drives, etc.): solid state media have a finite amount of write operations. This means that while it might typically take years for you
to reach the upper limit, if you use any sort of disk wiping utility like Wiper you risk reducing the lifespan of your solid state
media more so than usual.Just to reiterate: Wiper
WILL DESTROY ALL DATA
on the devices you have selected. You can stop a wipe operation
once you've started it, but you cannot undo it! In other words, PLEASE be very careful not to destroy any data you may need!
